Soup Kitchen
Dozens of teams, many from
local churches come together to prepare and serve meals to
those in our community that are in need. In fact, some
soup kitchen teams have been assisting in the program since
its very beginning.
Individuals utilizing the soup kitchen program have various challenges, not all financial in nature. Due to dramatic shifts in client demographics since the relocation a number of changes to the Soup Kitchen have been necessary. We are finally beginning to settle in to our new home, having gained a better understanding of new client patterns. Many clients have expressed how enjoyable it is to be fed in our new brightly lit and roomy dinning hall. Gone are the days of long line-ups of clients having to wait in the cold for a hot meal. For that we feel truly blessed.
Food Bank

Funded by donations from the Community, the Food Bank provides food packages full of staples and some fresh food when available. Access to the food bank is determined by the size of a family and their income. An intake to determine frequency and quantity will be done for each family. In order to obtain your Food Bank card you must bring with you proof of income and expense along with a piece of photo ID for each member of the family.
The Food Bank program is located on the main floor. The food bank uses a pro-active market style system where clients are provided with food choices which best meet their family's needs.
The number of families utilizing the Food Bank program continues to rise at an alarming rate. Although we have two annual Food Drives; Easter and Thanksgiving our shelves need to be stocked regularly, please give when you can... a can or two for the families in need.

Thanks to the generosity of the Ontario Trillium Foundation, The Inn has added a walk in cooler and freezer. This allows us to carry a selection of frozen and fresh foods which will provide a better variety and more balanced diet to clients using the food bank. Donations of frozen and fresh meat, vegetables or fruits can be dropped off at The Inn at 115 John Street - Monday through to Friday between 9 and 4 pm.
